“This House Is Dark”: An Unfinished Yet Enduring Effort

This House Is Dark, written by Atosa Estekizadeh, is the result of months of continuous work, rehearsals, and the creative collaboration of Alefba Theatre Group. The play explores the impact of Iran’s historical and social transformations on the life of Iranian women.

Despite being fully prepared for a public stage performance, unfortunately, due to unexpected circumstances, a full theatrical staging was not possible. Nevertheless, the work was presented as a staged reading in a limited setting, with the presence of the playwright and a group of actors, for a gathering of dedicated enthusiasts.

We are still hopeful that in the near future, we will be able to welcome a broader audience in a formal venue.
