Project Pardis

In 2021, Alefba Group was awarded a grant from the City of Seattle to perform a feasibility study for the establishment of an Iranian community center in the State of Washington; Alefba Group named this project “Project Pardis.” It was broken down into several committees, each for a specific purpose, and was led by volunteers in the Iranian community, including Alefba group and other non-profit Iranian organizations in Washington State.

Alefba Group met with various other Iranian organizations and individuals in the community to identify the needs and requirements for this center. After reviewing the suggestions and needs, three phases for different time horizons were identified. Succeeding the needs identification, real estate agents and other individuals in the community volunteered to join us in the search for locations fitting the identified needs. A design contest was also held, where university professors and professionals in the field of architecture diligently reviewed over 41 teams’ submissions for the top designs for the architecture of the space. Finally, as a trial-run, a physical location was rented in Bellevue to better understand what an Iranian community center entails for our community; this location is currently known as the Pardis Center and is available to the community several days a week. Upon the completion of the feasibility study, a findings report was submitted to the City of Seattle. For more information about Project Pardis and to review the report, please click here.
