Seattle Iranian Choir
Founded by Afshin Sepehri, the Seattle Iranian Choir is a vibrant community ensemble uniting voices from across the local Iranian-American community. Our mission is to celebrate, preserve, and share the rich heritage of Iranian music, contributing to the diverse cultural landscape of the Pacific Northwest.
Since our debut at the 2015 Nowruz Festival, we have performed at numerous prominent events, including traditional Nowruz, Mehregan, and Yalda celebrations, the Seattle Iranian Festival, and the Northwest Folklife Festival. We also regularly feature in the multinational Cultural Festivals at the University of Washington and stand out as one of the few Iranian choral groups to present full solo concerts in Bellevue, Washington.
Our Leadership & Artists
The ensemble is directed by Misha Domirani, an accomplished composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Renowned for his work in concert performance, sound design, and cultural preservation, Misha has dedicated his career to bringing Iranian choral repertoire to broader audiences. Under his leadership, the choir emphasizes authenticity, community engagement, and musical excellence.
Our performances are enriched by talented local musicians and dancers who bring depth, color, and movement to the stage. We are anchored by our principal pianist, Farnaz Mahdisiar, whose expressive musicianship, technical mastery, and exceptional skill elevate both our rehearsals and concerts.
Resilience & Collaboration
Even during the global pandemic, our passion never wavered; we adapted by releasing recorded performances of both original and arranged pieces. Collaboration is central to our identity, fostering deep cultural exchange and mutual understanding. We are proud of our joint symphonic experiences, including collaborative concerts with the Seattle Peace Chorus in 2018 and 2022, and our 2026 performance with the Rain Family Choir.
