Alefba’s temporary committee of Afghan Support prepared Nowruz Gifts for our new Afghan immigrants in Washington state. This project was financially supported by the COVID Outreach and Engagement Fund Project (COE) of King County.

About 20 volunteers from Alefba contributed to buying, preparing, and delivering the gift packages. Alefba cooperated with a few Afghan non-profit organizations, which provided the addresses of new immigrants.

The gifts include an electric pressure cooker, a Shahnameh book for kids, a coloring crayon set, a paint pad, nuts, chocolate, dried fruits, a Nowruz Greeting Card, and the COVID issue of the Health Bulletin.

Alefba volunteers successfully delivered the gift packages to the homes of more than 80 newly-immigrated Afghan families.

Alefba will cooperate with an Afghan non-profit organization to hold a festival for newly-immigrated Afghan families in June 2022.
