One of the activities Kankosh started in 2019 is a monthly discussion group in which attendees discuss various topics of mutual interest and learn from each other’s experiences and research. Kankosh currently has two in-person branches (even though there were held online during pandemic), but we will soon introduce new online branch via Clubhouse (more information will be added soon). 

Each branch of Kankosh consists of between 10 and 20 members who meet monthly for 9 months a year (September to May). An annual joint conference of all the branches held in June is added as the 10th session of the year.  Kankosh has no session during the months of July and August.

Members of a branch decide on the topics of the discussions by proposing and voting on them, on the first session of the year.

Each branch stays open for new membership until it reaches the maximum of 20 members. Then, it will close to new members unless there is any vacancy.

To make sure the sessions are organized and members are committed, there is annual fee of $25 plus a point system to encourage punctuality and active participation. If the negative points of a member reaches a certain threshold, that member would be asked to leave Kankosh. Each branch is empowered to decide on the time, place and language of their meetings as well as the topics and format of the sessions.
