Like any other non-profit organization, Alefba Group needs support to be able to fulfill the objectives reflected in its mission.
Besides tons of volunteers who devote their time, energy, and expertise to plan and organize Alefba’s events, activities and programs, Alefba Group has the privilege of receiving financial support from three main sources: organizations, businesses and the community.
Organizations
Alefba Group is honored to have been the recipient of multiple grants from government agencies and non-profit organizations over the past few years. Some of our major grantors and their grants received by Alefba include:
- King County: to identify the needs of the Iranian senior community, to support the Iranian caregivers, and to educate the community about COVID-19 and how to find reliable sources of information.
- Department of Health: to educate the community about COVID-19, precautions, and vaccinations
- City of Seattle: to perform a feasibility study for the establishment of an Iranian community center (Project Pardis)
- Seattle Foundation: to help with the COVID-19 Vaccine Equity initiative.
- Pacific Hospital PDA: to organize monthly health education talks.
- Group Health Foundation: to develop new programs and expand existing programs to support the community.
Businesses
Businesses in Washington State support Alefba Group in three main forms:
- Donation Match: When community members donate their own money to Alefba Group, their employers can and usually do match these donations.
- Volunteer Time Match: This program, which mainly belongs to Microsoft Corporation, allows employees to request donations to Alefba Group based on the personal time they have volunteered for our organization. We are blessed to have several Microsoft employees who spend a significant number of hours volunteering for Alefba and we appreciate both these individuals and Microsoft.
- Sponsorship: Business owners usually support us by sponsoring specific events or programs. Alefba promotes their business in exchange.

Community
Besides donating time, passion and knowledge, community members have supported Alefba Group financially in various forms since organization establishment:
- Membership: Alefba is a member-based organization and a large group of individuals and families renew their membership and pay corresponding dues every year.
- Donation: We are blessed to live in a community where many generous individuals who believe in Alefba’s vision and activities regularly donate their own money. These donations are either made at our annual Pardis fundraising event or occasionally throughout the year.

What is the process of receiving grants?
Government agencies and non-profit organizations regularly receive applications for grants. Each grant has its own objective, and Alefba Group selectively applies to the grants which are aligned with Alefba’s mission, and our organization has the expertise and the bandwidth to deliver outstanding results. The grantors usually accept our proposals by assessing our goals stated in the application and evaluating our delivery capabilities from our track records.
How can a business sponsor Alefba activities?
We regularly solicit sponsorships for our specific events. Businesses can also reach out to us if they are interested in sponsoring any particular activity or the organization in general. You can refer to our sponsorship page for more details.
