Alefba Group, in collaboration with other local Iranian non-profit organizations and volunteers in Washington State, is working on a feasibility study phase for an Iranian Community Center: Pardis.

The Pardis center will mainly be used for educational, cultural, and social activities. The goal of the feasibility phase of this project is to identify the needs of the Iranian community in Washington State and to create a plan for addressing those needs through this community center; this phase will be completed using a grant from the City of Seattle.

This project includes several different sub-committees that welcome volunteers; these areas include requirements, site search, design, governance, and community outreach, etc. If you are interested in joining this project, please complete this survey and we will be in touch.

Melika Korhani Shirazi is the new project coordinator for project Pardis; she was hired on March 22, 2021 and is very excited about this project. Melika is experienced in various fields, ranging from legal aid and property management to tax preparation and customer service. She has a bachelor’s degree in International Business and certificates in global leadership, accountancy, and fraud accounting. She was recently hired as a Field Auditor at the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries. Melika also has significant volunteer experience in the area of eviction defense for the King County Bar Association. 

As a final note, we hired Melika after a rigorous interview process and from a group of qualified candidates who applied for the position. I hope we get a chance to benefit from the talents and skills of the other candidates in the future as well.
